Cui Binnius ut fucum faciat: frequentissime, inquit, Presbyterae in Conciliis nominantur mulieres caelibem agentes vitam illae, quarum viri Presbyteratus ordine initiati vel erant, vel fuerant. Ita intelligendus est, ait, Canon. 21. Conc. Antissiod. Haec ille, notis ad Concil. Laodic. Sed ex antiquo MS. Chronico de gestis Henrici l. A. C. 1105. refert Spelmannus, supra laudatus: Et Ancelmus Archiepiscopus Cantuariae prohibuit Sacerdotibus Uxores non prohibitas: eundem que subnectere ait, ac si ad rem novam denotandam: prodigia alia atque alia consecuta.
